Which Game of Thrones episode should we review on the Take the Black Podcast? Vote!

We on the Take the Black Podcast are eagerly awaiting the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones. And while we do, we’re going to re-watch different episodes from the show’s seven-season past and dissect them with our usual brand of vulgar camaraderie. But we need your help.

Fortnight by fortnight, each episode we watch will be chosen by you from a poll that we’ll post every other week. This week, the episode choices span multiple seasons, including gems like “Hardhome” from season 5, an episode commenter Bandit77 said “had scenes that made the war for the living real…[T]he director paced the scenes like the best horror movies, building up tension until the inevitable onslaught.” Agreed

Commenters also suggested “The Spoils of War” from season 7, “The Rains of Castamere” from season 3, “Baelor” from season 1, and “Battle of the Bastards” from season 6. All great choices. All that and a pick for “The Queen’s Justice” from season 7, too. Antonio explained why he chose that hour:

"The episode is filled with iconic moments: Littlefinger’s fight every battle monologue, Bran’s return, Jon’s and Daenerys’s meeting, Cercei’s tantrum, and of course, Lady Olenna’s demise."

“Tantrum” is a gentle word for locking two people in a dungeon so they can watch other die, but we take Antonio’s point. And who could forget Olenna’s OG mic drop moment?

Finally, Lord Travis would like us to rewatch and discuss “Blackwater” from season 2, on account of the push and pull between between Stannis and the Lannisters.

"Who do you want to win? The guy who killed his brother but has more right to the throne than Joffrey and would likely bring justice to the rat-infested King’s Landing OR Tyrion who we all love. The episode also has a ton of spectacle that the later seasons have and the quiet character moments that are a hallmark of the show."

Here’s the poll:
