A review of Westworld Season 2, Episode 6 in 3 parts: Part 3.

Spoilers ahead for Westworld season 2, episode 6, “Phase Space”!

We find Dolores Angela and Teddy on the train they have boarded as Teddy and Dolores discuss running away from Westworld. Teddy states that Dolores ‘fixed his need´ to want to leave Westworld just like everything else. As they are passing to another carriage of the train, Teddy leaves a gun and the bullet he picked up off the floor in Sweetwater with the tech hostage, telling him “this is the last of my mercy”.

We know the Delos’ tech is trapped inside, the front carriage, which is now decoupled by the delicacy and grace of Angela’s dexterity. We are left with a Schrodinger’s Cat paradox, not knowing whether the tech had shot himself and died, or was still alive, before entering the station.

Back inside Delos, the new Strike team and Charlotte manage to get the map online, and we see an icon of the train moving towards the edge of the map.

Not quite sure how Delores and her gang are going to fight off the Delos strike teams, once they get into the installation, where they will go, or if they will be able to rescue Peter, but at least he isn’t going anywhere for a while.

Those in Delos staring at the main map of Westworld, are seen being alerted to the crash of the host train. Extracting Peter is not going to be as easy as capturing him, especially if Dolores has the help of Ashley.

When the bow breaks

Back in Bernard’s CR4-DL we see him follow an old greyhound into the saloon, which he instinctively follows, and again we see the piano being played by a host, who is no other than Ford himself!

The implications here are that Ford could have been a robot in the season one finale that was programmed to seem as though it was Ford, who had been killed by Dolores.

Next: Westworld: Evan Rachel Wood’s transformation into Dolores

However, it appears that his conscience had in fact been uploaded into the CR4-DL, quite possibly by Bernard, which is why he stole the ball. This would explain why Elsie could not find the origin of Ford, the person who was blocking the attempts to hack the system and manipulating the hosts.

It also reaffirms that there may be many hosts, narratives and human souls trapped or uploaded into the CR4-DL, and that perhaps one-third of hosts found empty with no data, were in fact going to be uploaded with human consciousness.
