Game of Thrones stars get rowdy at a huge party in Belfast

facebooktwitterreddit

Last week, we reported on several Game of Thrones cast members — including ones whose characters have been long dead, like Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) — gathering in Belfast. For better or worse, they were in town for a big party. That would be cause for celebration if it didn’t look so much like the wrap party for Game of Thrones season 8, which basically means it’s the wrap party for the show as a whole (the King’s Landing set is still operational, so there may be some filming left to do). For fans, it’s a little bittersweet; many of these people will probably never play these characters again.

But that doesn’t mean they can’t have a good time, which they did, in spades. Enjoy some of the images from what looked like a wild night.

That’s Jan Haydn Rowles, the show’s dialect/vocal coach, in between Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei). We have her to thank for every time Clarke has sounded intimidating speaking Dothraki or Valyrian.

By the looks of his Instagram, Momoa was the party animal of the night…or at least the guy who took the most pictures. Naturally, he spent some time goofing around with his former queen…

…but gave equal time to the King in the North:

And here he is forming what I’m going to call a lick train with showrunner David Benioff and Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister).

Mark Addy (Robert Baratheon) was there as well:

"Bobby B with Drogo in the after life from freefolk"

And Rory McCann (the Hound), whom we’ve seen very little of during the filming of season 8:

"Rory is alive! from freefolk"

Below, a group of cast members rocks out, including Momoa, Addy, Clarke, John Bradley (Sam Tarly), Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark).

"bobby b and daeneys with friends AU from freefolk"

Even Sean Bean showed up to celebrate the show with his former castmates, cause you can’t have a Game of Thrones wrap party without Ned Stark.

Bean’s presence brings home that Game of Thrones truly is ending. It’s been the best of shows, it’s been the most controversial of shows, but it’s been one hell of a ride.

Next: Season 8 filming: Another part of the King’s Landing set is burnt down
