We know that some Game of Thrones cast members have finished with their scenes for season 8, and for the show as a whole — Hannah Murray, Joe Dempsie — but shooting continues, so not everyone is done.
But according to Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), everyone will be all wrapped up pretty soon, which lines up with information about filming finishing sometime in late June. He made his comments to the Independent while enjoying the Taste of Dublin, where he intended to “stuff me gob.”
"At this time, we’re very, very close to finishing the entire thing, but you’re not gonna see it until next year sometime, and I don’t even think they have a release date yet cause they don’t have to. But I’m very close to getting rid of the beard. Thank God."
Davos Seaworth without a beard? That’s weird to think about. But if we see a clean-shaven Cunningham in the near future, that’s our clue that’s Davos has shot his last scene. Be on the lookout for this man:
In the past, Cunningham was always busy during the weekend of the Taste of Dublin. “I was never here.” But after Thrones is over, he’ll have plenty of time for leisure activities, something he’s looking forward to/dreading:
"I’m gonna, what’s known in the trade as decompress, so I’m gonna do nothing for the summer, and then I’m gonna start panicking that I’ll never work again, and we’ll see what happens."
Well, at least when he’s panicking he won’t have to worry about keeping a close shave on top of everything else.
