Ever wanted to own an autographed piece of Game of Thrones memorabilia without the hassle of stalking your favorite cast member? Now you can, and you can support a good cause while you’re at it. UK charity Action for Children has partnered with the Royal Mail and HBO Licensing to offer enlargements of a series of Game of Thrones postage stamps put out by the Royal Mail earlier this year. What’s more, each of these enlarged stamps are signed by members of the cast, with all proceeds going to Action for Children.
A total of six stamps are up for auction on the Action for Children eBay page starting today, June 28 and running through Sunday, July 8. Who’s signing? These fine people:
- Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister)
- Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister)
- Maisie Williams (Arya Stark)
- Kit Harington (Jon Snow)
- Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen)
- Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark)
What? No Diana Rigg? She did get a stamp. Ah, well — at least she finally has her own Funko figurine.
Either way, this is a fun idea. To further entice fans, the press release assures us that the cast members signed their stamps “while filming the final season,” so they have some added value. At the moment, it looks like the Jon Snow and Daenerys stamps are commanding the highest prices, which makes sense. Still, if you’re a fan of Tyrion, Cersei, Arya or Sansa, now’s your time to get a deal.
As mentioned, all proceeds from this auction will go to the Action for Children charity, which “helps disadvantaged children across the UK through fostering or adoption, by intervening early to stop neglect and abuse, by influencing policy, and by making life better for disabled children.”
So pony up, Game of Thrones fans; help the kids out and get a nice piece of memorabilia in the process.
You can also buy the normal-sized stamps separately here.
