4. The Cannibal

Okay, so a lot of this entry is again based on conjecture. The Cannibal was never ridden, let alone ridden into battle, and never fought another dragon unless you count the hatchlings on which he was known to feast, which gave him his name. None of our usual tools can be used here.

So why is the Cannibal rated this highly? I base my opinion on three things:

1) No one ever managed to tame him, and his lair on Dragonstone was littered with the bones of those foolish enough to try. By the time of the Dance of the Dragons, no one even bothered to try anymore.

2) He was bigger and stronger than Sheepstealer and Sheepstealer seems to have feared him. After Sheepstealer ripped off Silver Denys’s arm, the Cannibal killed and ate the man (and his sons) without Sheepstealer interfering.

3) When Sunfyre killed Grey Ghost upon returning to Dragonstone, he left the Cannibal alone. The Cannibal ultimately survived the Dance of the Dragons, one of only four dragons then left in Westeros. The Cannibal may also have been one of two dragons on this list not bred by the Targaryens (the other one being Terrax), and the only one after the fall of the Valyrian empire. Technically, the Cannibal could still be alive, but being significantly older than Sheepstealer, the chances aren’t great.
