Season 8 filming: King’s Landing smokes its last?

SPOILERS BELOW

We’re in the final days of filming on the final season of Game of Thrones…finally, and every day on the set could be the crew’s last. According to A Red Priestess, who’s been on the ground tirelessly taking pictures of the King’s Landing set in the Titanic Quarter for weeks, “[i]t all ends” this week. Are these the final images of the Game of Thrones set in action we’ll ever have?

If so, we should treasure them, although they don’t show us anything particularly new. King’s Landing is still battered and broken, the towers to either side of its front gate a ruined mockery of their former glory:

Below, you can see the facade of the Red Keep on the right. Or at least, it was red at one point — it’s since been painted the color of neutral beige stone. Why? We’re still not sure.

And as always, there is smoke rising above the city, probably the aftermath of a dragon attack.

At least one Redditor sees a similarity between what’s become of King’s Landing and another famous Westerosi landmark:

"So KL is Harrenhal 2.0 from freefolk"

Is it the destiny of King’s Landing to become another ruin to the power of dragons, as Harrenhal became? And is this truly the end of filming (earlier estimates put the end of shooting in late June, and we’ve gone past that), or will the crew find itself unable to tear itself away from this set?
