WiC Weekly: June 30-July 6
A lot happened this week in the world of Game of Thrones-related news. Filming for season 8 is finally done, both Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) had things to say about season 8, and we’ve got news from Beyond the Wall regarding shows and fandoms closely related to Game of Thrones. Let us begin.
Former and current cast and crew members from the show descended on Belfast to throw a huge wrap party. As expected, the atmosphere was festive!
That wrap party yielded some great scenes, like Kit Harington (Jon Snow) shaking his money maker.
Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) reflected on the end of Game of Thrones and discussed her plans for the immediate future.
Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) talked about season 8. She also thinks you shouldn’t put much stock into all those neat little fan theories floating around out there.
Sorry to break the news to you like this, but [SPOILER] is dead in Stranger Things season 3.
We ranked all the dragons from the A Song of Ice and Fire novels. How does Drogon measure up against Aegon the Conqueror’s Balerion the Black Dread? Find out inside.
HBO Nordic released a very cool piece of artwork for Game of Thrones season 8, and it looks like it’s about as close as we’re getting to an official poster for quite a while.
Are you jonesing for a great medieval-type show to fill your days until Game of Thrones season 8 gets here in 2019? Check out The Last Kingdom on Netflix.
We have some thoughts on the Age of Heroes prequel that will follow Game of Thrones once season 8 is through.
Even though the season 8 wrap party has been held, there were still some great photos of things happening on the King’s Landing set at Titanic Studios.
