Photos from the set of Stranger Things—What are Eleven and Max up to in season 3?

Filming for Stranger Things is currently underway, and fans are clamoring for news from the set in Atlanta, Georgia. Just Jared recently shared over 40 photos of stars Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) and Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield) filming a scene with Brown’s stunt double. What is the citizens of Hawkins in for come Stranger Things season 3? Beware SPOILERS below.

In the pictures, Max — wearing a yellow raincoat — pushes her bike in the rain while Eleven (Brown’s stunt double) walks beside her in a red raincoat. Why does Brown need a stunt double for this low impact scene? Probably because she is currently recuperating from a knee injury she suffered in June and the producers want to air on the side of caution even for benign activities like walking on rain-slick surfaces.

Based on these pics, it looks like Eleven is going to spend season 3 out the open, instead of hiding in Mike Wheeler’s (Finn Wolfhard) basement or hanging out in Jim Hopper’s (David Harbour) cabin.

As Brown told Variety in May, season 3 will explore Eleven’s growth as a person. “It’s a beautiful storyline for Eleven this season,” she said. “It’s really a coming of age for her and understanding what being a normal teenage girl is.”

Eleven spent most of season 2 separated from her friends, which gave Brown an opportunity to sharper her performing skills. “I found another side of my acting that I didn’t know about,” she said. “I found techniques on how to cry and how to get angry, and I learned so much from Eleven, from those episodes of being isolated, that when I’m back Season 3, things happen — stranger things happen. I’m just saying I use that style of acting now and my method of acting for Season 3.”

Netflix has yet to announce when Stranger Things season 3 will drop, but as one of the services’ biggest series, it’s sure to cause a stir when it does.
