The Emmys 2018 nominations were announced earlier today and we have a lot to say about Zahn McClarnon’s snub!
The Emmys 2018 season is upon us and we have a lot to say about the nominations, so let’s right now into it. This season of Westworld delivered plenty of award-winning performances. From the great Evan Rachel Wood, the talented Thandie Newton, and the villain you love to hate, Ed Harris, Westworld’s sophomore year showcased what real acting was all about. Some of the best episodes were the ones that focused on the other parks, including the second season’s eighth episode, ‘Katsuya’.
Zahn McClarnon was the standout of the episode, playing one of the oldest hosts in the park, Akecheta. Akecheta not only gave us insight into the Ghost Nation but also explained how he and his people were “woke” long before Dolores and Maeve.

Zahn McClarnon’s fantastic and heartbreaking performance, unfortunately, did not make it on the Emmys 2018 radar. Snubbed of an Emmy nomination, we cannot help but think there had to have been some mistake.
How could McClarnon be overlooked this award season? While Westworld is a sympathy of talented actors and complex storylines, there is no denying that it was Akecheta who stood out from the rest.
Zahn McClarnon may have been snubbed of the Emmys 2018 nomination he deserved, but Westworld still made it on the list. Not only was the HBO show nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, but both Ed Harris and Jeffrey Wright were nominated for Lead Actor in a Drama Series, as well as Evan Rachel Wood for Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Along with these nominations, Thandie Newton was nominated for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. I cannot think of any other show that deserves all the praise it can get!
The Emmys 2018 will air live on NBC on Monday, September 17th!
