For those looking to count the days until either season 8 (or The Winds of Winter), do we have a solution for you. The 2019 Song of Ice and Fire calendar has hit store shelves, and contributing artist John Jude Palencar shared some of the art on his website.

First up, we have the heart tree of the godswood in King’s Landing. True, heart trees are usually made from weirwoods, but when those aren’t available, an oak like this one will do:

These illustrations are based on A Song of Ice and Fire, not Game of Thrones, hence why you’ve seen a heart tree look that that on TV.

Hey, Viserys Targaryen. Nice crown of gold. If it’s possible, this image is even more gruesome than the one of the show, although I don’t recall Viserys dressing like a pirate.

Finally, a rough sketch of a White Walker commanding an army of wights from the back of an undead elk. Or is this Coldhands?

A Song of Ice and Fire calendars have been coming out for years, each of them illustrated by a different artist. Palencar is now part of a group that includes Donato Giancola, Gary Gianni, Marc Simonetti, John Piccacio, Eric Velhagen, and Didier Graffet. The calendar is currently available for a mere $17 at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
