Indiana: Daario Naharis

It’s almost impossible to talk about Indiana and not talk about basketball. I’m pretty much a basketball nube and even I know not to come between a Hoosiers fan and their television screen on game day.

This Midwestern state is known nationwide for Hoosier Hysteria, which is when basically the entire population loses their minds over high school basketball. James Naismith, who invented basketball, once visited a state finals game, saw hot motivated the fans were, and called Indiana the center of the sport.

With intense fandom comes intense competition. If there’s one Game of Thrones character who could get on board with a good rivalry, I think it’s Daenerys’ part-time lover Daario Naharis.

Daario will do anything to win over his girl and prove his manhood. When he first meets Daenerys, he literally chops the heads off his business partners and offers them to her as proof of his devotion. Later, he engages Grey Worm in a test of stamina to earn the honor of riding by Daenerys’ side on the way to Meereen, and volunteers to fight the city’s champion when his queen is trying to take it.

Daario treats his life like a sport. He’s unique among sellswords for not wanting to kill bystanders, since the wants the sport to be fair and exciting. Slap a basketball in that guy’s hand, and the Hoosier State could have its most motivated player of all time.
