South Dakota: Olenna Tyrell

In sports, it’s kind of a fad right now to pick out a team’s “Mount Rushmore” players, to honor each team’s best athletes in the way Mountain Rushmore honors America’s great leaders leaders. This famous granite sculpture features the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. These four presidents were chosen because of their key roles in American history; they are the “all time greats” in their field. They’re the best of the best.

Olenna Tyrell, more popularly known as the Queen of Thorns, cares deeply about legacy and reputation. She has proven time and again that she will do just about anything to keep the Tyrell family moving up in the world, including poisoning anyone who stands in her way. Olenna’s one desire is for her family to gain power and prosper.

She may not be a sculptor, but if Westeros had its own Mount Rushmore, I think the Queen of Thorns would do all she can for her or members of her family to get on it.
