Where do Game of Thrones characters fall on this moral alignment chart?

A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones fans like to analyze and categorize everything. Case in point: this chart from Redditior j0lly_c0mpani0n, who ranks many of the show’s main characters using a Dungeons and Dragons staple: the moral alignment chart. Alignment charts use two sets of values to assign placements: law vs chaos and good vs evil. Sounds perfect for Game of Thrones, right? Check out the results:

First off, can we say how awesome it is that Bronn is at the center of the chart? Bronn should always be the center of attention. Elsewhere, we have all sorts of interesting placements, starting with Tywin Lannister. We can agree with Tywin being ranked as evil, but we have a time calling the Red Wedding “lawful.” Then again, guest right isn’t a formal law per se, and law is a time of lawlessness.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Daenerys being chaotic good is perfect. Dany has always been a force for good, but if her intention is to “break the wheel,” there’s going to be chaos. And we probably don’t have to explain where Ramsay is.

Then there’s Sandor “the Hound” Clegane, ranked as rebel impure. Considering the Hound’s past indiscretions under Joffrey, as well as his rebellion against institutions like knighthood, we can appreciate it. Stannis Baratheron being lawful neutral is also interesting; he’s obviously lawful, caring very much about the proper line of succession, but he’s not above doing things like burning his daughter to achieve his goals.

Any others stand out? Are there any that seem completely off base? Give us your thoughts!

Next. Game of Thrones characters we’d love to see return from the dead…and some we wouldn’t. dark
