One year ago, we put together a list of the 15 best fighters on Game of Thrones. With season 7 not under our belt, we’re revisiting and expanding that list, reconsidering who deserves to be in that exclusive group. You’ll see new faces such as Arya Stark and Euron Greyjoy, and a few old favorites getting bumped around. Be they heroes or anti-heroes, brawlers or artists, legends or street fighters, questing knights or assassins, Game of Thrones is full of excellent fighters, and we want to honor as many as we can.

For this list, we ranked warriors based on how they fought at their best as seen on the series. For example, we’re looking at Jaime Lannister before he lost his hand and Arya Stark after her training at the House of Black and White. And we must see the character in combat, ON SCREEN, at least once, so we don’t consider characters like Robert Baratheon or Rheagar Targaryen.
