Moldova: Lysa Arryn
Lysa Arryn only has a few appearances on Game of Thrones, but but they’re all memorable. As the Lady Regent of the Vale, she watches over her late husband’s kingdom until her son, Robin, comes of age. She’s an intense personality prone to strong feelings of paranoia and jealousy depending on who’s visiting her at any given time.
All of these traits make Moldova Lysa’s ideal match. The country is small and, more importantly, isolated. In fact, it’s the least visited country in all of Europe. This is similar to the Vale, which is removed from the rest of Westeros by the Mountains of the Moon. Up in the hard-to-reach mountain palace of the Eyrie, Lysa is even more cut off. This is probably how Lysa prefers things; she’s mistrustful of other people for the sake of precious Robin and probably doesn’t want too many milling about her property.
Lysa operates at a bit of a remove from the people of the Vale, and spends most of her time just trying to hold things together following the death (ahem, murder) of her husband. Moldova also spent years without a leader. Seriously: the country spent three years in political deadlock until a president was finally elected in 2012. Might seem crazy, but it’s totally true, just like Lysa Arryn.
