Cyprus: Myrcella Baratheon

Did you know that Cyprus is also called the “Island of Love?” The name stems from the country’s history with Greek mythology. Legend has it that Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, was born there!

Beyond that, Cyprus is just a beautiful, romantic place, perfect for the likes of young Myrcella Baratheon. Fans may remember Myrcella best from her time in Dorne. She was sent there by her uncle, Tyrion Lannister, as part of a political bargain, but things ended up working out in her favor when she fell in love with Trystane Martell, her intended. She spent her days in the Water Gardens kissing on the Dornish prince and talking about how lucky she was to be in love. Cyprus seems like a great fit for her!

Cyprus also has a rich history; it’s home to ancient tombs, mosaics, and the oldest wine label in the world, which is perfect for when Myrcella’s mother and Uncle Tyrion come to visit. And of course, Myrcella herself has a rich family history. On one side, you’ve got the Baratheons; true, she doesn’t actually have Baratheon blood, by nurture counts for something. And the Lannister side of her family can trace their lineage back all the way to the Age of Heroes.
