Belarus: Bran Stark

Poor Bran Stark has a tough lot in life. He was raised as the son of a powerful lord, sure, but then Jaime Lannister straight-up pushed him through a window and he ended up paralyzed from the waist down. His life was far from over, but things were harder for him than they were before.

After that, he started having prophetic dreams, traveled beyond the Wall and and got trained up to be the next Three-Eyed Raven. While all of this was happening, members of his family were being slaughtered or mistreated all over the continent, and eventually, he got to watch. It sounds like a challenging life to me.

In the small landlocked country of Belarus, the citizens are still dealing with massive challenges. After the Chernobyl disaster in neighboring Ukraine, the country was exposed to significant nuclear fallout. The effects were devastating. Nevertheless, Belarus wasn’t going to give up in the face of hardship. The country has worked to overcome it problems and emerged the stronger for it. Since the days of the disaster, Belarus has turned out a Nobel prize winner and turned its cities into places worth visiting. Much as Bran had to navigate the fallout of his family members’ murders and his own physical challenges, Belarus has worked hard to overcome it problems.

Belarus and Bran also share some ideals. Bran has a major part in the war to come against the White Walkers; he envisions a safe future, and one where he can protect the people of Westeros. Similarly, Belarus places a high value on its clean streets and low crime rate.
