Welcome to another episode of Take the Black Live, the show where myself and Cheryl Wassenaar of Culturess talk through the latest in Game of Thrones news you can use. Watch us above!

The Take the Black Podcast is now on iTunes, and Google Play! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.

This week, it’s all mostly about the Emmys, where Game of Thrones took home the top prize of the night early in the week. That’s the third time in as many seasons that Game of Thrones has won the statue or Outstanding Drama Series. Did it deserve it? What about Peter Dinklage’s win for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama? And how about all the awards the show didn’t win? Who got snubbed? Who was covered in glory? How did Nikolaj Coster-Waldau not get something? We talk through it all, with the exact right amount of outrage.

We also hit on some of the interesting things George R.R. Martin said at the event. It’s rare to see this guy in front of a microphone these days, so when he speaks, we should listen.

Finally, we wrap things up by going beyond the Wall and chatting a bit about Netflix’s attempt to revive Avatar: The Last Airbender as a live-action series. Good idea, bad idea or terrible idea?

We’re taking the day off next week, but Take the Black will return on October 3! We stream the episodes live every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. CST on our Facebook page, and we hope to see you there!
