If Ben Barnes was the next James Bond–would you watch?
Imagine this. Ben Barnes as the next James Bond. Sounds pretty amazing, right? Given the changes the famous franchise has undergone recently, it wouldn’t be the craziest thing to add Ben Barnes to the list of potential people that could play the iconic character.
Recently, director Danny Boyle departed from the project due to “creative differences” which has presented another issue for the installment. When it comes to who would play the next James Bond after Daniel Craig, there have been many suggestions and rumors circulating the industry.
Amongst the rumored have been Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Henry Cavill, and Michael Fassbender who were suggested to take over after Craig’s days as Bond came to an end. But what if we also threw in Ben Barnes into the mix? We think that’s a splendid idea, and aren’t sure why no one else has suggested this before now, and are in full agreement over this with CBR.com.
Ben Barnes himself has gone on Twitter to interact with fans regarding this and expressed his interest in taking on this iconic role. But let’s think about it. He’s classy, smooth, and so extremely suave that his very aura and appearance epitomizes the James Bond persona.
And if we take a look back at his role on The Punisher, we know he knows how to kick ass so there’s just another reason that this is the near-perfect role for him. According to CBR.com, Barnes just recently turned 37 which is the same age Craig was when he took over as Bond.
They also discussed that if the franchise told Bond’s story before he ever put on the suit, then Barnes would be the ideal choice considering he looks quite a bit younger than some of the other individuals that have been Bond, including Craig.
Here’s to hoping that someone out there considers Barnes as the next Bond because we are so here for it!
