Doctor Who: Fourth Doctor audio out on vinyl on October 19th!

Doctor Who vinyl fans, get ready for another exclusive and limited release! Fourth Doctor audio Zygon Hunt is out soon on Friday October 19th!
Following the huge success of the vinyl release of Tenth Doctor audio Cold Vengeance earlier this month, Big Finish have released details of another Doctor Who story out soon. On Friday October 19th, Sainsbury’s will be exclusively selling vinyl editions of the Fourth Doctor audio adventure, Zygon Hunt.
Originally released on CD and download back in 2014, Zygon Hunt is a very different take on the alien shapeshifters. The Fourth Doctor had originally met them in the classic TV serial, Terror of the Zygons, and they had very much been the main threat. But when he encountered them again in the final story of the third season of The Fourth Doctor Adventures, things were just a little more complicated.
Tom Baker sounds more than happy that another of his adventures is being sold on vinyl.
"Well! I’m at the disposal of the fans who created me and sustain me. If they want me flat and round and vinyl and spinning too, well, I’m their Who to whit to woo."

The vinyl will be exclusive to Sainsbury’s and sold in very limited copies. This follows the pattern of several previous vinyl releases, including Energy of the Daleks or Infamy of the Zaross, and all of which have sold out very quickly. Even Cold Vengeance, which was released only over a week ago, has nearly sold out already.

For my own thoughts on Zygon Hunt, it’s an enjoyable enough story. It’s particularly great to hear the Fourth Doctor go up against the Zygons again. However, it’s not my favorite story that features the alien shapeshifters.
In some ways, it’s also a story that gets slightly overshadowed by two major Zygon stories released not long before and after: 2013’s The Day of the Doctor, and 2015’s The Zygon Invasion/The Zygon Inversion. Even Big Finish’s The Zygon Who Fell to Earth stands out more due to having more of an emotional punch. However, it’s still an enjoyable enough listen, especially for pure nostalgia.
