It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas for the stars of Westworld!
Westworld stars Thandie Newton, Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, and Jeffrey Wright are all receiving pay raises for the upcoming third season, and rightfully so. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the four stars are rumored to get around $250,000 an episode following the first round of contract renegotiations.
All of the cast on Westworld are split into pay tiers and Wood, Harris, Newton, and Wright are amongst the first grouping. Previously, the four of them were making somewhere in the vicinity of $100,000-$150,000 so this is going to be a significant pay raise for all of them.
James Marsden and Tessa Thompson were not a part of the first grouping which comes as a shocker considering they were a big part of the first and second season. Is this because they don’t fall under the first tier or that they may not be a big part of the series moving forward?
If you recall, just some months back it was announced that the female stars of Westworld would receive equal pay to their male counterparts and it looks like HBO is living up to that promise. By the time Westworld returns, both Game of Thrones and Veep will have ended on HBO, so there is a lot at stake to make the third season the best it can possibly be.
Despite the mixed reactions of season 2, the series has continued to be a fan-favorite and even with the long months of waiting in between, fans are anticipating its return to see where the story will go and what the post-credits scene means as to what will happen in season 3.
