James Marsden is trading in his cowboy boots for sheriff boots in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film.
James Marsden will soon be seen as the sheriff in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film–and we can’t wait! Westworld is a dark, gloomy place when you dive into the depths of it, and it comes as no surprise that Marsden wanted to switch it up with Sonic the Hedgehog.
The upcoming film will be live-action and CGI-animated, and a throwback for all the kids of the 90’s who grew up playing the video game. In an interview, Marsden said that his character will be nothing like what he does on Westworld, and will be the complete opposite, in fact.
He states that he likes to take on something completely different after completing a project, and after the emotional turmoil his character Teddy had to go through in season 2, taking on Sonic was a welcome change.
Through the years, Marsden has played a number of diverse roles including Cyclops in the X-Men franchise and Tina Fey’s love interest in 30 Rock. Coming up he will be seen in Quentin Tarantino’s rumored final film, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.
All these roles are a stark difference than Westworld which has a loyal fan base and an online following that has fans theorizing until the end of time. James Marsden, along with other cast members, are usually kept in the dark about where their character will end up, and what the future holds for Teddy is uncertain.
Given that Marsden is a father himself, he hopes that children will enjoy the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film, although his own children aren’t starstruck over his own work and just look at him as their dad and nothing else.
