Antonio Banderas as a potential villain for Westworld season 3? Um, yes, please!

Westworld season 3 is getting cooler and cooler by the minute and if the latest news actually comes to fruition, they may not be able to top it. In a report released earlier yesterday by Screen Rant, it was reported that Zorro’s Antonio Banderas is being eyed for a potential villain role in season 3.

The rumors have not been confirmed as of yet, and nothing more than a possible role for Banderas has been suggested. But fans of Westworld and Banderas are freaking out regardless because the idea of him being a villain is just so perfect. Seriously, could you think of someone better?

If Banderas joins the cast, he’d be the second new addition to season 3 alongside Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, whose character details have not been released. Showrunners of Westworld have already stated that the third season will be a “radical shift” so it’s safe to assume they are living up to their word.

That Hash Tag Show was the first to break the news regarding Banderas and the little they did find out is that he could potentially play a character that would be similar to Javier Bardem’s character in Skyfall. For those who aren’t familiar with that character, Bardem played a cyberterrorist who as a former MI6 agent seeking revenge.

Taking that tidbit and applying it to Westworld, it’s possible that Banderas could be a rogue Delos employee trying to act out against the company. We’d be so down for that! We’re not sure how he could possibly connect with the other characters, but the show will find a way.

Most recently Banderas was seen in National Geographic’s Genius: Picasso playing the role of an older Pablo Picasso (and was even nominated for an Emmy for the role). Of course, most of us recognize and know him from The Mask of Zorro, and completely embrace the idea of him possibly being a villain in Westworld season 3.
