Westworld: Everything we know about the intriguing Raj World
By Ariba Bhuvad
Remember the glorious Raj World? It’s the third park we know about outside of Westworld, so let’s revisit all we know about it!
Westworld introduced two additional parks in the second season, presumably out of the six that exist. There was a lot of hype around the introduction of Shogun World, which we got a sneak peek of in the season 1 finale. However, we were not expecting to learn about another park when Raj World was unexpectedly introduced.
Raj World has a very calm, relaxed atmosphere in comparison to Westworld with melodic sitars playing in the background and exotic animals roaming about. For those who don’t remember, Raj World mimics a time in India when the British were in rule from 1858-1947. Visitors going to this park are able to hunt the infamous Bengal tiger–one of which had washed onto shore in the season 2 premiere.
If you go to the Delos Destination website, you will find the following description for Raj World:
"“If being pampered by our world-class spa isn’t your cup of Darjeeling Tea, the park’s jungles and mountains are your only chance to glimpse magnificent beasts long vanished from your world.”"
Does this mean tigers and elephants don’t exist in the outside world? And if so, what exactly is going on in the outside world? Interesting, very interesting.
Raj World is referred to as park 6, and assuming that there are truly only six parks, this would be the most recent addition of all the parks. Well, whatever is left of all the parks now, that is.
While some visitors come to hunt in Raj World, others come to for rest and relaxation–especially since it is extremely different than Shogun World and Westworld. And based on the clothing and attire of the guests, it’s estimated that the time period of the park is sometime between the 1920s and 1940s.
In episode 2 of Westworld season 2, we see Grace attacked by one of the tigers. It was assumed that this same tiger was the one that we see in the season 2 premiere. But how far did the tiger’s body travel in order to end up so close to Westworld?
Well, we don’t know much at all about the distances between each park or how they manage to create different, contrasting climates for each. However, a comment is made during the episode that states Raj World is at the edge of the park, meaning it’s likely on the edge of the island.
Based on the similar climates of Westworld and Raj World, it is likely that they are closer to one another while Shogun World is the furthest away from them. Now the only question is, what other parks are in between them? The wait is really killing us, isn’t it?
