New to Westworld? Never caught a minute of the sci-fi series? Here are a few reasons why you’re missing out!

Westworld is amazing. Simply put, that encompasses our feeling about it. Sure, season 2 was confusing, but even then we couldn’t help but be sucked into everything that was going on. Now, if you’ve never ever seen the series before, there are many reasons why you should.

It’s hard to list every single reason because the show is so unique in its story, characters, plot, and method of delivery. But that’s not the only thing! The story is so complex and forces viewers to think deeply about humanity. What other sci-fi, futuristic, robot-filled series does that? There may be some, but not quite like Westworld.

And most importantly of all, Anthony Hopkins is in this show. So, we don’t really need to give more justification than that, do we? Whether you’re new to the show or just want to remind yourselves why the show is worth watching, we’ve got a few reasons for you!

Anthony Hopkins

Sir Anthony Hopkins, the one, the only, the legend. A man who has played frightening roles such as Hannibal Lecter and brought life to a Shakespearen character in the form of King Lear. He is and always will be one of the most amazing actors.

His presence in Westworld increases its value by ten-fold, and he makes the show absolutely amazing. If this isn’t reason enough to watch the series, then we don’t know what is!

It’s not just a western show

Sure, it’s called Westworld, and sure it’s based in a town that exudes the Wild West sentiment, but it’s much more than that. After all, did the Wild West have robot cowboys and robot madams? There is a sci-fi, mystery, and suspense element to the narrative which will pull you in from the get-go.

And unlike a western-themed show, there are more than just gunfights going down. We’ve got insane robot revolutions, robotic animals, and humans that are more threatening than anything else. Have we convinced yet?

It feels like a video game

Showrunner Christopher Nolan has shared that he wanted the series to feel similar to playing a video game. This was actually his biggest inspiration when creating the series, and it’s very apparent if you’ve seen the show already. And if you haven’t, then how cool does a television show that feels like a video game sound?

There are different areas of Westworld, and each one unlocks something new. Perhaps, a new character or a new challenge or even a whole new park. Similar to a video game, things get progressively more dangerous as you move along. You’ll notice that even the characters evolve through the first season as they gain more power and knowledge. Pretty cool, right?
