26. Sally Sparrow

An indirect companion to the tenth Doctor, Sally Sparrow was one of the few companions of The Doctor to encounter the Weeping Angels and live to tell the tale.

With an interest in photography, especially in the field of urban exploration, Sally ended up in Wester Drumlin. There she discovered, while taking some photographs, strange messages addressed to someone called The Doctor. Telling her close friend Kathy about what she had found in hope of some helpful advice, Kathy took her to see her Brother Larry.

A tangled web of events unfolded where Kathy suddenly vanished from existence and is sent back to the past. More mysterious messages where left, police officers who had been sent through time showed up with clues and messages for Sally. All of them were from The Doctor and asked for help.

It took some doing, but eventually, Sally worked out, along with the help of Larry, what was going on and how she was able to help. Eventually, she returned to where it all began in Wester Drumlin. Sally figured out how to trap the Weeping Angels and secure them.

In doing this, Sally was able to return the TARDIS to the Doctor and Martha. Effectively saving the Time Lord from one of the most terrifying monsters in the Doctor Who universe, allow him to continue his work.

Sally might have been only a minor companion, and certainly not a travelling companion, but without her, The Doctor would still be stuck and where would be?

Probably surfing channels, looking for something decent to watch.
