Like we said, no one on the cast or crew is dumb enough to give specifics about how the final season of Game of Thrones will go. However, a couple did outline the general theme of the season. “Everyone is coming together to fight the impending doom,” said Turner. “There’s a lot of tension between these little groups, battling for what they think is right. It’s Game of Thrones, so it’s going to be bloodier and more death and more emotionally torturous than all the years before.”

Longtime writer Bryan Cogman said something similar about the final episodes:

"[Season 8 is] about all of these disparate characters coming together to face a common enemy, dealing with their own past, and defining the person they want to be in the face of certain death. It’s an incredibly emotional, haunting, bittersweet final season, and I think it honors very much what George set out to do — which is flipping this kind of story on its head."

Personally, I’m glad to hear that there will still be room for interpersonal conflict even as the dragons and the White Walkers and the other fantasy elements take center stage.
