The Walking Dead is the most pirated show of 2018

For years now, HBO’s Game of Thrones has held the dubious honor of being the most pirated TV show on the planet. In 2018, it was dethroned. According to TorrentFreak, the title of Most Pirated Show has passed to The Walking Dead, which has long been Game of Thrones’ runner-up. Check out the top 10 most pirated shows of the year below:
- The Walking Dead
- The Flash
- The Big Bang Theory
- Vikings
- Titans
- Arrow
- Supernatural
- Westworld
- DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
- Suits
Of course, Game of Thrones didn’t have any new episodes in 2018, so it’s only natural that it experienced a dip in piracy. The Walking Dead, on the other hand, had an eventful season that saw the exit of longtime lead cast member Rick Grimes to parts unknown, although the legal ratings for the show have been dropping for a while now.

As for the other entrants on this list, they’re the usual suspects. The CW’s slate of DC superhero shows is popular as ever, as are flashy dramas like HBO’s Westworld. 2019 promises to be a huge year for TV, what with Game of Thrones taking its final bow, Disney debuting a live-action Star Wars show, HBO adapting Alan Moore’s Watchmen (kind of), and much more. I’ll be very curious to see where the pirates dock as they year continues.
