Stranger Things and The Walking Dead have taken the world by storm since they both premiered. Therefore, it comes as no surprise at all that they were awarded with the title of “most in-demand” at the Global TV Demand Awards. While we wrap our heads around the fact that such an awards ceremony exists, it’s exciting to see both of these shows be given such an honor. There are so many shows out there and the competition is fierce, so be considered the most in-demand across the world is huge.
We can never quite get enough of the Stranger Things kiddos or the neverending existence of brutal enemies on The Walking Dead (who else is excited about The Whisperers?). Both shows bring a particular type of allure and thrill that is not common in television today. Oddly enough, Game of Thrones was runner-up to both: The Walking Dead won for traditional television, and Stranger Things won for digital.

The “most in-demand” title was determined by Parrot Analytics and Guinness World Records, and the other runner-ups included: Black Mirror, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Vikings, and The Big Bang Theory.
Stranger Things and The Walking Dead both air on separate platforms with the former being on Netflix and the latter on AMC Networks. To accept this honor for The Walking Dead were cast members Josh McDermitt (Eugene) and Pollyanna McIntosh (Jadis/Anne) along with co-executive producer Denise Huth.
Considering the decreased ratings for The Walking Dead, it’s exciting to see that the show is still adored and loved by many. It is a reminder that ratings are not always indicative of the fan support that exists across the entire world. And well, Stranger Things has had and continues to have a solid fan following that will likely not wither anytime soon.
The Walking Dead will return on February 10 on AMC for the second half of season 9, while Stranger Things will premiere its third season on Netflix on July 4!
