The day has finally come. Filming on the final movie in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, as well as the Skywalker saga as a whole, has finally come to an end. Director J.J. Abrams — who directed The Force Awakens, skipped The Last Jedi and returned for this — tweeted a photo of the trilogy’s heroes having a moment:
It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all. pic.twitter.com/138AprtFuZ

Abrams kicked off the start of filming back in August of last year with a less stirring tweet, presumably of the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon with Finn and Chewbacca in the background:
Bittersweet starting this next chapter without Carrie, but thanks to an extraordinary cast and crew, we are ready to go. Grateful for @rianjohnson and special thanks to George Lucas for creating this incredible world and beginning a story of which we are lucky to be a part. #IX pic.twitter.com/FOfnGwVut5

So now we wait for the films official title and trailer. If we had to make an educated guess, we’d say we’ll get both of them at the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago in April.
