Take a 3D tour of the massive King’s Landing set
Ahead of filming on the final season of Game of Thrones, HBO built an enormous set meant to stand in for King’s Landing, the capitol of Westeros. Constructed on a backlot at Titanic Studios in Belfast, fans took plenty of photos of the set while it was in use, but not like this.
Recently, Apple Maps updated its satellite photos of the area, which means you see what King’s Landing will look like in season 8 in all its glorious detail. But BEWARE HUGE SPOILERS!

Still here? Great, let’s have a look.
If you have an Apple device, simply open Maps and search for Titanic Studios, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Once there, move the cursor around until you find the blasted shell of what used to the biggest and busiest city on the continent. Note the giant green screen on the left. Special effects are coming to King’s Landing.

And a view of the main thoroughfare. Looks like the columns were warped by heat?
Here’s a shot of the entrance to the Red Keep:
And here’s a shot of the entire set from the front…

The detail work is incredible. I can’t wait to see this thing onscreen. And afterwards, HBO plans to leave the set standing as a tourist attraction. Burned or no, King’s Landing isn’t going anywhere.
