Fans make their own trailers and posters for Game of Thrones season 8

Pretty soon — on April 14, in fact — we’ll finally know what happens in the final season of Game of Thrones. Until then, fans are letting their imaginations run wild with a never-ending variety of homemade posters. Will they accurately reflect what goes down in the final six episodes of the show? No idea, but they’re busting with creativity and craft. Let’s look at a few.

Starting off with a bang, we have the showdown we’ve all been waiting for: Daenerys vs the Night King, fire vs ice, life vs death, long blonde extensions vs spiky ice-blue brows. They might not have a long history, but the Night King did murder and resurrect one of Dany’s children last season, so we’re guessing she and Drogon will have something to say about it.

Game of Thrones meets Van Gogh, or am I the only one thinking of The Starry Night?

"[NO SPOILERS] Fan Art!! Winter is Coming! from gameofthrones"

Okay, so this isn’t actually a poster for season 8; most of the characters look to be wearing outfits from seasons 4 or 5. It kind of looks like the cover of Game of Thrones on VHS if it were released in the late ’80s, and I love the Iron Throne on fire.

Finally, a new fan-made trailer, since HBO doesn’t seem keen to give us one:

Jon Arryn Garza spliced together what little season 8 footage we have with footage from previous seasons to create the trailer we’re all waiting for but may never get. I’m not sure if this sates my appetite or leaves me wanting more. Six weeks to go!
