Topher Grace edited a mega-trailer for the entire Star Wars series

Topher Grace is a successful Hollywood actor. That ’70s Show was pretty big for a while. And did you see him as David Duke in BlacKkKlansman? But he has a weird second career as a curator of geek culture. Some years back, he edited the Star Wars prequel trilogy down to an 85-minute movie. Later, he collapsed Peter Jackson’s three Hobbit movies into one film. Now he’s at it again, teaming up with Jeff Yorkes to create a five-minute super trailer for Star Wars…all of it. There’s footage in here from all 10 Star Wars films yet released. Take a look:

I like the parallels the trailer draws, between the multiple generations of Skywalkers, between Obi-Wan then and way back then, between death scene, between jaded Han and Han the believer. It’s no secret that there’s been a fair amount of toxicity among the Star Wars fandom over the past year or so, so it’s refreshing to see something that depicts the whole shebang as one big rollicking adventure.

As for Grace, he’s got a few things in production, but is it possible he should consider quitting acting and devoting himself to repackaging genre classics? Maybe he could edit Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 into one movie? What would the Back to the Future trilogy look like condensed? Or maybe he could try and turn each season of Game of Thrones into separate films. It’s all out there, man.
