Five best and worst moments from the season 8 trailer

FLEA BOTTOM BROWN TWO: Yes, they’re pretty, but they’re mostly nailed down.

It’s expected that a new season trailer will give us a glimpse of all our favorite characters, and this one is no exception: there’s a lot of beautiful 1980s-standard shots of our heroes glowering, brow-furrowing and looking ultra-committed, and doing nothing else.

Sure, HBO doesn’t want to give anything away to the legions of hardcore fans poring over every frame (we certainly wouldn’t do that) but surely we could have gotten a little more context, or at least some movement. I wanted a bit of a clearer picture at the mayhem glimpsed only in spurts — this is the final, apocalyptic conflict, after all. Although again, I understand why they’re holding back.
