A much-needed Game of Thrones refresher ahead of season 8

Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane”
The Mountain is a tough guy to read. For one, he’s had, like, three lines in the course of the series, although he’s been around since season 1. Second, since season 5, he’s worn a helmet that obscures his now-hideous face, and he wears it pretty much all the time. What can you say about a guy like that?
In season 7, the Mountain did what he’s done ever since Qyburn brought him back from the brink of death: stand guard over Cersei, intimidating the crap out of anyone who comes within eyesight of her. He’s ready to execute Jaime for her when it becomes clear that Jaime won’t go along with Cersei’s plan to leave Jon and Dany’s armies to fight the Night King alone, but she doesn’t give the order, so he sheathes his sword and Jaime walks away.
We expect the Mountain to continue to serve as Cersei’s bodyguard in season 7, although sooner or later, his brother the Hound is going to come calling. The Hound has never forgotten how cruelly the Mountain treated him when they were children, and someone’s going to pay.
