Gendry

Last we saw Gendry, he was accompanying the Brotherhood without Banners, Tormund Giantsbane, the Hound, Jon Snow and Jorah Mormont on a mission beyond the Wall to capture a wight. The group intended to transport the wight to King’s Landing to prove to Cersei that the threat of the White Walkers was very real, and that they all needed to come together to fight it. Things got intense beyond the Wall, and before the army of the dead could bear down on them, Jon Snow sent Gendry back to Eastwatch so he could send word to Daenerys to mount a rescue, which he did.

And that’s the last time we saw Gendry. Did he remain at Eastwatch with Tormund and Beric? Did he go to King’s Landing with Jon and the Hound? Or did he make for Winterfell? Probably the last one, because in the trailer we see him putting his smithing skills to use in the Stark home base:

Gendry can fight and Gendry can smith. He has things to offer the war effort. As the bastard son of King Robert, he also happens to be the last living Baratheon, although as of yet he has not been legitimized. This means Gendry’s opinion could mean something were he to throw his support behind a claimant for the Iron Throne. In theory, he could even make a claim for the throne himself, although we’re not sure how much the show will explore his political importance in the final season.
