A much-needed Game of Thrones refresher ahead of season 8

Last we saw this hilarious wildling, he was on the Wall alongside Beric Dondarrion. Together, they watched the Night King blast apart a big chunk of the Wall near Eastwatch. As with Beric, we weren’t sure for a while if Tormund survived that catastrophe, but thanks to the season 8 trailer, we’re sure he did. He’s already ahead.

But can he stay ahead? Assuming he survives long enough to get back to Winterfell and fight the army of the dead, there’s little doubt that he’ll be on the front lines of the battle; Tormund was never one to shrink from a fight. All I really want to know is whether the show will provide some kind of resolution to Tormund’s enduring (and completely one-sided) infatuation with Brienne of Tarth. I don’t hear wedding bells in their future or anything, but I at least want these two to meet one more time before either of them has the chance to die.
