Shirtless Josh Brolin prepares for his role in new Dune movie
By now, you’ve probably heard that Legendary Pictures is adapting Frank Herbert’s science fiction classic Dune for the big screen, with Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve at the helm. The cast is seriously impressive, and as filming has just begun at Origo Films Studios in Budapest, many of them are getting into the spirit of things.

Speaking of, Josh Brolin, Thanos himself, recently posted a shirtless selfie accompanied by a quote from weapons master Gurney Halleck, who he’ll be playing in the movie.
“What has mood to do with it? You fight when the necessity arises — no matter the mood! Mood’s a thing for cattle or making love or playing the baliset. It’s not for fighting.” This is what Gurney says to young Paul Atreides, the lead character, when Paul isn’t in the mood for training one day.

Halleck is assigned to teach Paul, the scion of a powerful family, how to properly fight by his good friend Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac). He is talented with the baliset, a nine-stringed musical instrument. Halleck has a wicked scar on his jawline given to him by Glossu “The Beast” Rabban (Dave Bautista) in the Harkonnen slave pits.
Looks like Brolin is excited to be reunited with his former castmates from other projects. Legendary composer Hans Zimmer will score the film, which is set to hit theaters in November of 2020.
What do you think? Can Brolin follow in the footsteps of Patrick Stewart and give us a great take on Gurney Halleck? Let’s discuss!
