11. The Night King kills Viserion

Anyone who believed Daenerys’ dragons would easily overpower the Night King and his army was in for a surprise when the Night King acquired a dragon of his own. Viserion’s death in season 7 is a tragic one, but the fact that the Night King raises the dragon from the dead in order to use him against Westeros makes it so much worse.

Judging by the ease with which Viserion took down the Wall during the seventh season finale, the Night King will be capable of bringing devastation to the Seven Kingdoms with his new companion. The only characters who will be able to stop him are Daenerys and her two other dragons, all of whom likely won’t be thrilled by the prospect of bringing down one of their own.

It was heart-wrenching enough when Daenerys saw one of her children die at the Night King’s hand, but it’s almost unimaginable to consider that she’ll be forced to bring Viserion down all over again.

Viserion is one of the first major characters we’ve seen turned into one of the undead, and it’s a difficult moment to watch…although it’s pretty exciting, too, because what’s cooler than an undead dragon? It’ll be just as hard to see the other characters’ reactions to Viserion’s transformation, and we also have to wonder if he’ll be the last well-known character to be turned into one of the Night King’s lackeys. Honestly, probably not.
