Last week, we had the opportunity to open the Houses of Westeros box from CultureFly, and we absolutely loved it. A huge thank you to Alyssa at CultureFly for sending that box over.
And we’re not done. May we present: the Great Battles of Westeros CultureFly Game of Thrones box. This is the newest box to be released in CultureFly’s Game of Thrones quarterly subscription box line. Check out the unboxing below, and then keep reading for pictures, pricing and how to get one for yourself so you can watch the premiere of the final season in style!
Where the first box we featured showcased the different noble houses across Westeros, this box touches on the famous battles throughout the series. Join us as we look back on some of the deadliest moments in Game of Thrones history, and the merch that comes with it.
First off, we have a very conspicuous tee-shirt depicting the moment from “Blackwater” where Tyrion set Stannis Baratheon’s fleet ablaze with wildfire, back when that dingleberry Joffrey was king. The print is considerably thicker than the shirt from the previous box, and the design is very different. I suspect it will soften out with a wash or two.

Next up is another over-sized pin. This large, red pin bears the sigil of House Targaryen. “Fire and Blood,” it reads. It is triple backed with rubber stoppers. Just like the one before it, the quality of this pin is great and there is no bleeding between paint and metal. It makes me wonder what house pins we have missed with boxes II and III.
The next item is a house sigil throw blanket. It isn’t a huge blanket but it’s perfect for throwing over your shoulders while you binge the show before season 8. It features the sigils of Houses Targaryen, Martell, Arryn, Stark, Baratheon, Tyrell, Bolton, Tully, Frey, Greyjoy, Baratheon, and Lannister. That is quite a lot of noble families to fit onto one blanket. It is SUPER soft and I can’t wait to use it.
The next item in the box is a Battle of the Bastards dry erase board compete with three arrow magnets and a marker with eraser. This is clearly modeled after the Mormont shield Jon Snow used when fighting Ramsay Bolton.
While this is a really cool dry erase board, I wonder how much you would be able to see written on its surface due to the design.
Next up is an item that references one of the most notorious blood baths in the entire series: the Red Wedding. Every time I see someone do a Game of Thrones-themed wedding, I always get nervous. Here we have a very classy set of plastic plates emblazoned with the sigils of Houses Bolton, Frey, Stark and Lannister. This wedding marked the deaths of Robb, Talisa, and Catelyn Stark. These plates are awesome and I know for a fact that the CultureFly box plates are really useful. These are a definite win.
The last item in the CultureFly Game of Thrones box is SO neat. It is a Targaryen sigil LED lamp that runs on USB or batteries. The colors change when you tap the power button and it even rotates colors. I do have a slight complaint about this lamp, though. As much as I love the effect, the flames at the very top of my plastic piece in particular are cut so rough it’s painful to touch. It looks like it just had some shaping issues during cutting and the cut didn’t go all the way through and broke off, so for my lamp, I’m going to have to shape it down a bit. Otherwise, this lamp is VERY cool and I will have it by my bedside.
That’s it for the Great Battles of Westeros CultureFly Game of Thrones box! There were a hiccup in regards to the lamp, but otherwise I loved this box just as much as the last. This quartlerly box is $49.99 and you get so much for your money. Between the shirt and the blanket, it has already paid for itself, and then you have a ton of amazing things left over.
