We’re just a few days out from the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere, and the stars of the show are hitting the latenight circuit hard. On Monday, Kit Harington (Jon Snow) appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and did his part to keep the hype machine rolling. Check it out:
Harington has been in New York for a couple of weeks now, attending the season 8 premiere event on Wednesday and then hosting Saturday Night Live. Now he’s hanging out with Seth Meyers. It’s a glamorous life, being King in the North. Some highlights:
- Harington continued his epic April Fools prank war with wife Rose Leslie (Ygritte) by writing a fake article that her favorite almond milk was being discontinued. This, of course, backfired on him when she called his assistant and ordered a bunch of it using his credit card.
- Harington is really good at playing a dead guy. During season 6, crew members who had never complimented him before came over and told him how good he was at being dead. Everyone has a talent.
- The cast didn’t get the season 8 scripts until three days before the read-through.
- Because he resisted reading the script until the group table read, Harington became the litmus test for reactions to big scenes. Apparently, they had a camera pointed at Harington’s face the whole time. I look forward to watching that “making of” documentary.
- Your season 8 tease for the day: There are “definite big moments.” Thanks, Kit.
- Harington told the SNL writers that he’ll “do anything you want me to do.” The result is that he played a Michael Jackson impersonator. Also he did this:
While we’re on the topic of Kit Harington visiting latenight shows, he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last week and played a fun game called “GoT or Ikea,” where random audience members had to choose the correct name for a character from among the names of pieces of Ikea furniture.
Poor Jojen Reed. That lady may not know your name, pal, but we’ll always remember your noble stand against those CGI skeletons. Rest in peace.
