Marvel fans had their hearts broken over over the last bunch of months as one Marvel Netflix show after another was cancelled. It started with Iron Fist, and then Luke Cage. Then they came for Daredevil, and finally The Punisher and Jessica Jones. All together, that’s ever single Marvel show Netflix had on its roster, gone.

While Iron Fist was struggling since day one, the other four shows had been doing well to very well, liked by both critics and fan. Many were left wondering about the reasons behind the cancellations. The answer has been staring us all in the face.

Disney’s forthcoming streaming service Disney+

Disney and Netflix have been working well together for years now, with many a Marvel movie appearing on the streaming giant. But at some point, Disney decided to start its own streaming service where it will collect everything in its vast library. Disney+ will include not only everything Marvel, but everything Star Wars, as well as Disney animated films old and new. Presumably, Disney+ will be the only place you can stream these beloved movies legally.

Although having Marvel shows on Netflix benefitted Disneyin the beginning, with Disney+ on the horizon, things have changed. Although the details are fuzzy, things reportedly became tense between the two companies to the point where making these shows on Netflix was no longer viable. There’s no way of knowing how well Disney+ will do, but if Disney wants to give the fans what they want, they absolutely need to bring the Netflix Marvel shows back to life.
