Check out the concept art behind the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere

HBO has released some concept art behind the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere, “Winterfell” over on its Making Game of Thrones blog. That includes one piece of art for a scene that wasn’t in the episode. How intriguing.

Let’s start with a some art behind the terrifying scene where Beric, Tormund, and Edd find the White Walker art left behind after the army of the dead destroys Last Hearth. Poor little Ned Umber is nailed to a wall in the center of a ring of arms and legs. It’s something out of a horror movie and the art is even creepier than the show:

Next, we have Sansa and Daenerys in the library at Winterfell. This scene most definitely did not appear in “Winterfell,” so maybe it was moved to Episode 802? We’ll have to wait and see.

Who’s addressing who here? This kind of looks like a scene we glimpse briefly in the trailer for the next episode, where these two are talking about Cersei Lannister, everyone’s favorite topic. Yeah, we’re betting we’ll see this conversation come Sunday.

There are even more pieces of concept art over on the Making Game of Thrones blog, plus a storyboard of Jon riding Rhaegal.
