Okay, so you had to know this was going to happen, right? I mean, the flirting between Arya and Gendry in Game of Thrones Episode 801, “Winterfell” was just a preamble to what happened between the star crossed lovers in tonight’s episode. Let’s set the stage:

The defenders of Winterfell know the Night King and his army of the dead are coming for them before the sun rises. They’ve planned how they’ll defend the home of House Stark, and they all scatter to rest and blow off some steam before the big battle that’s heading their way in just a few hours. Arya heads up to the battlements of Winterfell and finds the Hound. They share a drink and commiserate about their time together before Beric shows up and Arya decides she’s going to do something else with her time than hang out with the two grumpy old men.

Down in the halls of the castle, Arya is practicing her deadly archery skills when Gendry shows up with the weapon she requested he made for her in hand. She twirls it around and starts to flirt; asking him how many girls he’s been with. After some stuttering and stammering about Melisandre doing stuff to him, Gendry tells her he’s only been with three girls.

Arya stops dead in her tracks, turns, looks him up and down and tells him she doesn’t want to die without knowing what it feels like. She rushes to him and passionately kisses him, and then the two begin disrobing.

Arya pulls off her shirt and reveals the scars she received while training to be a Faceless Man, and as she’s taking her pants off, she tells him she isn’t the Red Woman, that he needed to take off his own pants. What happens next took Twitter by storm; let’s see how everyone responded:

"Starks love to top, apparently. from freefolk"

It’s a nice thing when your ship comes in, isn’t it?

Appropriate reaction:

OH GOD PLEASE NO!

IT’S HAPPENING!

That’s all our ship!

Well, it finally happened.

Everyone is happy!
