Fashion is Coming: The costumes of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”
Brienne’s armor
It wouldn’t be a proper costume roundup for “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” without mentioning the knight for whom the episode is named. Brienne of Tarth is sporting her usual heavy armor in this episode, but the fact that she’s been knighted makes her attire that much more significant.
It’s also worth noting that her sword belt, which holds the blade Jaime Lannister once gave her, is red and gold, the colors of House Lannister. That she chooses to wear this belt after all her time away from Jaime proves that she’s still mindful of the lessons she learned during their journeys together. She proves that when she defends his honor at the top of the episode.
When Brienne vouches for Jaime in Winterfell’s Great Hall, she’s wearing a heavy fur cloak over her armor. In contrast to the red-and-gold belt, this is a Northern trait. Compared to Jaime, Brienne has made significant inroads with the Northerners, as evidenced by Sansa taking Brienne’s recommendation that Jaime be allowed to stay. Much like Davos, Brienne has found a home at Winterfell. These are her people now, too.
