The Night King goes to King’s Landing

Episode 803 will feature the biggest battle we’ve ever seen, like ever, on TV and maybe film. The army of the dead has arrived and chaos is imminent. However, if you paid close attention to the end of “Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” we didn’t actually see the Night King among his army, which seems deliberate. Maybe he was chilling on dead Viserion in the back somewhere, but something tells me if he was there, they would have shown him.

Is it possible he’s not even there? Perhaps he has other plans, like going to King’s Landing. If we believe Bran, the Three-Eyed Raven, is the Night King’s one and only target, why would he bypass Winterfell for King’s Landing? Because’s he’s smart AF.

The living at Winterfell may be outnumbered, but they have dragonglass galore and a plan in place to at least try to take down the Night King. However, King’s Landing has nothing at the moment. Cersei is not prepared to handle the army of the dead and in fact, counting on Jon and Daenerys’ armies tiring themselves out fighting it.

Considering Cersei has her guard down, for the time being, it makes absolute sense that the Night King would opt to attack her instead. He could end up dying in Winterfell with all that dragonglass and all those Valyrian steel blades, and then it would be game over.

So why not go to King’s Landing, which has a huge unprepared population? It’s more meat for his army. It’s actually quite a genius idea from a military perspective, but I have to say that if we don’t see him in this episode at all, I’m going to feel a bit upset. It’s the Battle of Winterfell, after all. His presence would be the frozen cherry on top.
