Yes, that was a Starkbucks coffee cup on Game of Thrones last night

facebooktwitterreddit

Daenerys Targaryen is apparently so chill that she’s got a cuppa Starbucks joe at the big Winterfell fast. What’s her preference? Grande mocha de Essos with mint-infused dragon’s milk?

It’s always fun to catch a show’s little blunders, and sharp-eyed fans are a having a field day with this one.

I can’t stop laughing. Omg. Who died in this episode? I can’t remember.

Personally, I always thought there might be a Starbucks somewhere at Winterfell. It’s a cold, snowy place where people need constant warm-ups. Of course some entrepreneur would realize there’s a gold mine here. Have any of you seen how many Tim Hortons coffee shops there are in Canada?

Good for this guy. I wonder if his stand-in is getting any accolades. Probably not.

Aha! It’s actually Sansa’s cup in the shot? Is Emilia Clarke’s career going down the drain due to her costar’s slippery prop shenanigans? How Machiavellian of Sophie.

Again, more coffee-sourced pain for poor Daenerys Stormborn. Or should we call her “Mochaborn” from now on? Can you hear the Saturday Night Live pencils scratching all the way from New York City? How many skits can they pump outta this one?

One might expect HBO to scrub the offending cup out with a digital eraser for future releases, right after firing the poor art department production assistant responsible for the table props.

On the other hand, it’s kind of a classic error that deserves to me immortalized. I never want it to leave. These memes alone are worth everything.

UPDATE: New intel has it that the cup may have been Sophie Turner’s.

More on this very important story as it breaks.

ANOTHER UPDATE: HBO has now released a statement:

"The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea."

We’ll have analysis shortly.
