BONUS VALYRIAN STEEL MOMENT: Dany goes all mad Queen on us.

Like Harington with Jon, Emilia Clarke had to carry a momentous story moment almost entirely with her facial expressions, and she did a fantastic job. You can see the hatred and rage in her face and the battle to control it, and perhaps we glimpsed the sparks of the ancient Targaryen madness that overwhelmed her intellect. That all adds up to bad news for the Dragon Queen.

Wrap it Up and Put a Bloody Bow on it: As you can tell, I was mightily impressed and relieved by “The Bells.” It was gripping, entertaining and loaded with pathos — all the things we’ve come to love about Game of Thrones. With Cersei and Jaime dead, it sets us up for a brutal mad-Daenerys Targaryen vs. heartbtoken-Jon/Aegon Stark/Targaryen standoff, and woooo … that is gonna be good.

This is it, fellow Thrones fans. After a decade and eight seasons, we have one more episode to come. See you here next Sunday night, same bat-network, same bat-channel, for one last run.
