2. Either Jon or Arya will kill Daenerys

It’s difficult to fathom that Jon Snow will be the one to kill Dany. I’m not sure why I feel this way but even with her Mad Queen destruction, he may not have the courage to do it. But then again, she did go absolutely cray, and the look on Jon’s face as she torched the city was full of horror and fear.

Jon killing Dany would be interesting for a couple of reasons. First of all, he’s a man of honor and Dany’s actions were anything but. Based simply on human decency, Jon may take it upon himself to put an end to Dany’s madness.

While I know the show hasn’t put much emphasis on prophecy, I’ve got to pause for a second and dig into the Prince That Was Promised/Azor Ahai theory a bit. This prophecy supposedly refers to a hero who would save humanity from a Long Night. Given that Arya killed the Night King, many believe this prophecy has already been fulfilled, and that she was the chosen one all along.

In the books, Azor Ahai is the reincarnation of the “Prince Who Was Promised” and ended the first Long Night by creating Lightbringer (a flaming sword) by stabbing his wife in the heart. Here’s what Thoros of Myr had to say about this prophecy in the books.

"According to prophecy, our champion will be reborn to wake dragons from stone and reforge the great sword Lightbringer that defeated the darkness those thousands of years ago. If the old tales are true, a terrible weapon forged with a loving wife’s heart. Part of me thinks man was well rid of it, but great power requires great sacrifice. That much at least the Lord of Light is clear on."

Dany and Jon may not be married, but they were in love and Jon may very well stab her in the heart, fulfilling the prophecy in some loose way.

On the other hand, Dany may meet her end courtesy of Arya Stark, who hasn’t killed anyone with green eyes (at least, not anyone significant that we know of) since she didn’t kill Cersei. The prophecy Melisandre once told Arya about shutting eyes could finally be completed with Arya killing Dany.

After “The Bells,” some fans believe that Arya is actually dead, or perhaps that she’s the Angel of Death as described in the Book of Revelation. “And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death.” Could Death be galloping towards the Mad Queen?
